The famous work of William Logan the Malabar Manuel known as Malabar Districr Gazetteer was first published in 1887.In 1906 and1951 Madras Government republished it. After that some private organizations also republished the same.But this is the third official publication of Malabar Manuel."the work of an enlightened administrator, an assiduous scholar and an authority on british affairs in the region, Malabar Manuel marks the beginning of anew tradition of "scientific" historiography of kerala."
